Continuing with with Beny’s awesome article:
5. Exercise ? Well lets face it we all now that the less weight you carry the less stress you carry on you lower body. So a little simple life maintenance can go a long way.
6. Be VOCAL ? This is a topic I would like to stress on. We need to be vocal with each other and communicate. If you know you are injured let you partner know to either take it easy or to not focus on the area that is tender or injured. I was injured in ground class, strained knee. Yes, I hated missing time off but I wanted to be gone a few weeks and not months. So, when I hit the ground again I let my partners know to avoid my right knee. I took it real slow and after a couple of weeks was back to form. So communicate with each other. I understand that what we train for is to survive on the streets and injuries there go out the door, but let?s not let the injury be from not communicating in class.
7. Doctor ? If all else fails or you know something is seriously wrong. GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!
If you guys have other methods please share what works for you, also don?t be shy to ask the instructors on what methods they have used over the years. They have logged in more time then some of us and have probably tried a few things.
