First of all, let me thank Sifu Matt, Sifu Tom Cruse, and Sifu Harrinder Singh for this awesome weekend. Also let me say that I am proud of all the EDS attendees for your hard work and performance. And a special congrats to Kevin Gallagher and Paul Ingram for acheiving their “Apprentice” instructorship under PFS. Both of you have worked hard and definitely earned it.
Where to begin…this was a two day seminar held in Wadsworth and hosted by Sifu Tom Cruse of the PFS organization. The topic was obviously knife fighting or “Edged Weapons.” I really enjoy this topic because I’ve learned that the better I get with a knife, the better my game is everywhere else. And being a technician myself, I value the importance of body mechanics. I’m sure everyone has heard me preach that knife work really increases your body mechanic. The presentation was very thorough, and the material/cirriculum was informative and fun.
The best part of the seminar aside from knife fighting with Sifu Matt was meeting and seeing JKD practitioners from all over the place. We had people from as far as Alabama come up for this event. The networking and brotherhood that immediately took place was worth its weight in gold. I would say to those who missed this event…..you missed more than the event. And I would recommend that if someone at the caliber of Sifu Tom, or anyone else ever comes out…..MAKE SURE YOU”RE THERE!!!!
