“Secret” of life… or one of them…

I really beleive that one of the “secrets” to success in life (in relationships, business, personal goals, etc.), is to start before you are ready. Let me throw out one or two ideas on how you can really use this to help you reach a goal you may be after.

In my line of business I hear every excuse in the world about why people can’t get started now. This is obviously assuming they see what I offer as having value… So my point is that after you’ve realized what you should be doing, there is that little voice inside you saying… “But what about this, and that… oh, and I should really wait until that happens first, etc.”.

In the past I used to get really upset about people really needing the benefits of self-defense classes, but then coming up with every excuse in the book on why it’s not going to work out. Both of us knew they had the money, so I wasn’t forcing them into something they couldn’t afford… and we also knew they had the time, so that wasn’t the issue.

I guess my point is that your brain is so complex and effective, that if you really want to, you can come up with rationale to not do anything… I do it freqently too… so I’m no saint. I guess just over the years I’ve developed a bit more sensativity to what I call “pulling the trigger”.

I’m learning (and continue to do so), on what areas in my life I need to “get started before I’m ready”. I can spend days… weeks… even months “setting up” my plan, however I’ve realized that an acted upon “Grade C” plan is tons better than a NON-acted upon “Grade A” plan. Does that make sense?

Stop back in tomorrow, and I’ll write more on this topic, as it is perfectly relating to something in my life right now. Hopefully you can see that I’m walking my talk… and not just lecturing from the soap box.

ps: I’ll be posting some pics and video to this blog very soon… Bookmark this page, and check in with me at the very least – every other day. I’ll be using it as a “personal journal”, as I start back up my training follow this surgery I just had.

That reminds me of an old quote from Will Rogers. “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”
