Whether you?ve been following this blog or visiting for the first time, thanks for checking in. Yesterday I challenged people to take a first step in creating their morning ritual. You can review the past entries to get an idea of the details of MY morning ritual. What I want to do here is summarize my program, but also explain a couple of my specifics, so let?s go!
I start every morning off with running. I only go for about 15 minutes, and each week I add on about another 1-2 minutes. This is my 6th week of doing this, so you can do the math and know where I started. If you?re reading this, you can do 5 minutes of running.
The alarm goes off and the first thing I do is throw my running clothes on and hit the pavement. That is right, pavement! I do this outside, even though today it was around 20 degrees and with 2-3 inches of snow. Running in ?imperfect? conditions will toughen you up emotionally, and have you appreciate better weather when it comes around.
Listen to some motivating music, repeat of powerful affirmation, or do what I do (I?ll tell you tomorrow) while you run. If you want to lose 5, 15, or 100 pounds ? do this, and you?ll get there so much faster than regular exercising. Running first thing pumps up your metabolism, and gets your heart rate up immediately. It is also a great way to wake up and be alert all through your morning.
So start off TODAY, and ?speed walk? somewhere in your work clothes, or throw on the jogging outfit at lunch and pound the pavement. Tune in tomorrow and I?ll explain the next 2-3 steps of my program.
Also, sign up for the RSS at the top of this page. It is a great way to get my blog entries first thing, and start your day off with a little humor, motivation and peace of mind.
