DAY #53: ? Moe? Catch a Sifu by the Toe
I was grappling last night, building up my endurance for the Grapple-A-Thon, which is a week from Saturday. When I got home I could barely walk on my foot, mostly due to my right big toe. I don?t think I broke it, but I definitely sprained it. So, no running this morning, or any other kind of a workout. I might head into the gym later on today? we?ll see.
Here are some other things I?m working on, as I heal up:
(see previous on yesterday?s entry)
4. Roll more? Even with my foot injury, I?ll be rolling a couple times more a week, just to put in more time on the ground. If you want to swim longer? get in the pool. If you want to ground fight longer? get on your back.
5. Moisturize up!… You didn?t see this one coming. Many times when you ground fight for long periods of time you?ll shoulder blades will get very raw. If you have dry skin as I do, make sure you keep your back well moisturized to prevent your skin from causing you too much pain. Can you tell I?ve been ground fighting for a while?
6. Change your lifting strategy? Given that I have two back to back Grapple-A-Thons to do in less than two weeks, I couldn?t care less about building mass in the weight room. Therefore, when I?m headed into the gym, I?ll do more of a circuit program with light weight and very high reps (30+) to build my stamina.
Check in tomorrow and see what I?m doing cardio wise?
Lee, Love and Life,
Sifu
